2023 Hall of Fame Inductee Norm Lustig
Our 2023 HOF inductee, Norm, is mostly known for his West coast exploits, but he began his life in Passaic, New Jersey.
Norm’s persona and lifestyle were honed in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, California. Norm played football and baseball. And as a true boy from Southern California, he played some golf, tennis and skied. The only sport missing is surfing, but my bet is that he did some of that too!
At the ripe old age of 19 Norm started working in the restaurant biz. His work exposed him to a paycheck, tips and the high life of celebrity and Hollywood stars, long before there was ever Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood, Instagram or TikTok. Norm got to meet all the celebs of the day. Norm quickly figured out how to work and play. He would ski by day and bar-tend by night. Talk about burning the candle at both ends!
Norm's Club accomplishments and service include commissioner for 8+ years, in the Blue and Saturday leagues. He has managed teams and mentored new members. Norm also served on the Rating Committee and Maintenance crew. Every morning, every day Norm can be found at the field as the sun is coming up lining the field. His accuracy and consistency has saved many an umpire's call for fouls balls, running outside the base path, crossing the commit line and whether a player is out of safe crossing home. Thank you Norm for your many years of service and your continued service to the club and congratulations on your induction.
