2015 Inductees
Jonita 'JJ' Bigelow
JJ and her husband Lou moved to Sun City Grand in June of 2005 and during her first Oktoberfest signed up for Women’s Softball and CHAPS. JJ believes that if you join a club, you should be of service to that organization and as a retired person a life well-lived includes volunteerism. She has served as Club Secretary, Women's Commissioner, Website Team, First Aid Princess, Manager/Asst. Manager, Valentine's Dance Committee and on various field maintenance projects.
Richard 'Dick' Moore
Dick Moore was a charter member of our Softball Club back in 1998. He was one of the early organizers, together with Jim Hansen and John Costa, of the Northwest Valley League which included Westbrook Village, Coyote Lakes, Pebble Creek, and Arizona Traditions. He has managed over 40 teams starting 1999 and continues to do so. Dick developed and instituted game reporting procedures to include local newspapers and worked to secure team sponsors using newspaper write-ups as an incentive. He participated on rating committees and field maintenance crews and promoted player safety by initiating the use of helmets with face shields. Dick’s latest contribution to the club is volunteering to help organize our holiday charity tournament in December.
Dale VanderKooi
Dale was raised in the Dutch community of Lynden, WA about 90 miles north of Seattle. It was a community of strong work ethics and even stronger morals. An accomplished athlete, Dale's sport of choice was basketball, at least until he discovered he could not jump! Dale has been a leader both on and off the field. Dale continues to persevere through much personal adversity to be of service to the Club. As Red League commissioner he credits his success to the players, support of his co-commissioners and the many friends he has made in the Club.
