To: All Grand Softball Club Members
From: Softball Safety Committee
Ref: Safety Protocols
Date: 11/28/2024
On November 22nd, the Softball Safety Committee met and discussed safety issues and protocols. Based on some recent injury incidents, the committee
requests the cooperation of all softball members in the following:
1. Players should have a legible emergency contact tag attached to their bat bag. In their bag should be a clearly marked envelope containing the players
updated emergency medical and health information form for cases of an injury emergency or serious illness.
2. All managers/coaches should familiarize themselves with where their player's equipment bags are located before each game.
3. Managers/coaches must complete injury incident reports at the field and forward a copy to a league commissioner and the CAM office. The Grand
Softball Board should be notified of the incident. Incident Report forms are available in the score tower at the field. This is mandatory. The safety
committee also requests a copy of the report for review of procedures and safety issues. You may forward a copy to Mark Beckner at mbeck322@gmail.com
4. A reminder that medical boxes are kept at the field behind the dugouts. Items in the boxes are orderly and clearly marked. Please try not to tear the box
apart. Read the labels to find what you need.
5. Finally, we ask that only the people providing medical assistance attend the injured party. Other players, participants, and spectators should be kept back
to allow those attending the party room to move and administer aid. Crowding around injured players has become a problem. Others can help by keeping people back, clearing the way for medical personnel if necessary, or directing police/medical into the scene. You can always wish the injured party well after the emergency is over.
The board members, commissioners, and safety committee appreciate your cooperation. Additional information is in a display case behind the home dugout.
